Rhymes With Sane

 Little droplets falling into rain;

Make little patterns of my name;

On the outside of the window pane;

Driving with my parents in the rain;

It was how I found my new name;

Formed in droplets from the rain;

I tell my father it is Cain;

I tell my mother exactly the same;

Then I tell them I am to blame;

To the family I am bringing shame;

Having such a contentious name;

In the holy bible resides my name;

The one and only troubled Cain;

My parents tell me I’m not to blame;

For the patterns of the rain;

Forming outside on the pane;

That my name isn’t really Cain;

Though it spells it out in the rain;

Acoustically it sounds just the same;

Like parents would give as a name;

Exhorted by the persistent rain;

Little droplets exactly the same;

That fell in the time of troubled Cain;

That tells of the bible’s shame;

And now I’m in identity pain;

I won’t remember my given name;

When I hear the falling rain.
