Go Now

The now is shortening more so, for the elderly who have lived with grateful love,

The dim of night more frequent ‘ere the warmth and electricity of memories,

Lying in beds which serve, where intimacy is searched for in withered arms reaching,

And sleep the companion most dear, emulating the decree which mortality makes,

Of the last breath taken, the long life for a time having partaken, which is then withdrawn.
