The Fluffy Game

In the Australian parliament politicians clink-clank like fighting birds in a suburban chicken coop;

Bin-liner salespeople hurling clip-board text jibes threatening legal spittle;

The trading of insults made amorous with a pinch of sleaze;

Their behaviour a gross mimicry of orgiastic raves;

Insulting the 70’s Surfies and Sharpies who warred just because they didn’t like each other.

For in the gardener    Awakens a worker Keen to sow: And mature seed Will rise in bloom And stringed birds Serenade boon botany In la primavera All that is decomposing Rotting leaves Their yellow is gold Their black is carbon They’ve left behind Standing skeletons For kids to climb For sunshine to reveal What secret habits Autumns leave.
