Personal Mercy

So you have fallen into faults, by whatsoever it be,

Do not trouble nor afflict yourself with them,

For they are the effects of your complex nature,

Misunderstood and manipulated by some authority,

Making you believe, as soon as you fall into fault,

That you are born with error, and out of favour,

And you cannot trust yourself, and make a beast of it,

Your being growing worse instead of better,

Your failings recorded for judgmental analysis.

But against these deadly suggestions, know yourself,

Losing no time, recovering, and taking up your life,

Though falling again and a thousand times more,

You have in you a confidence in personal mercy,

A means with which to fight and conquer self-doubt,

Rather than the righteous offering to do it for you.
