Mr Hellsburden

Mr Hellsburden is going to war

But not before he has drunk his tea

While he waits for his wife to finish

Ironing and stiffing his finest suit

For he likes to impress his comrades

And look his best in the war room

Mr Hellsburden is thinking of war

He’s invested in the rising stock

Keeping safe all his homely assets

There’ll be carnage at the warring front

The emotional damage for him to repair

He’ll personally hand out the medals

Mr Hellsburden is living though war

A torrid situation in which he thrives

These are doldrums that will come

With high orders for freedom’s sake

There are freedom fighters to admire

These chips off his Ministerial shoulders

Mr Hellsburden is backing the war

And feels rather pleased with himself

As he closes the front door and leaves

His loving wife and his little off cuts

And steps aboard a first-class carriage

And go to the Room to be with the boys

Mr Hellsburden is liking this war

A safe warrior in the fire fight of pawns

His fellow warriors stare down the enemy

Their guns are weak with misinformation

And when soldiers die they will be heroes

For making the Minister’s homeland safer

Mr Hellsburden is safely home after the war

Sipping camomile tea with his family dear

As they hear the news of re-construction

Of the minds and bodies of those returned

Who shall be on the slow road to redress

Victims helping victims who need it most.
