The Righteous Are Calling

The Urban Activists speak loud in the streets;

In the markets, in sports stadiums, they raise their voices;

At the head of the noisy intersections they shout out;

At the entrance of the Town Hall they speak:

“How long, you unbelievers, will you love unbelief?

How long will you deniers delight in your denying?

You fools who go around hating our shout-out action.

If you do not turn around at our reproach

behold, we will pour our hot scorn upon you;

We will make our slogans your curriculum.

We keep calling and you refuse to listen,

And with stretched out hands, we remain unheeded,

Because you have ignored our shouting counsel

and fear not our warnings of world destruction.

We can only laugh at your ignorance;

We will mock you when terror strikes,

Mock when the gripes hits you like a storm,

And when your disturbance is like a whirlwind,

For distress and anguish will crush you.

Then you will go asking of us, but we will not answer;

you will seek us diligently but will not find us.

Admit that you hate our calls for action,

and deny the truth of the visions of anarchy.

Know the word contempt really means catastrophe.

Ignore us and you will drown in your dissidence,

and you will suffer constipation in thought.

The ignorant die after they turn away from truth,

the complacency of unbelief having destroyed them;

but whoever listens to us will dwell in trust,

and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.”
